Glühwein (pronounced "glue-vine")

Some people call this "Glug" or "Mulled Wine". This wine starts as a red grape wine (Merlot) then adds a combination of cranberries, citrus peel, natural sugars, and a proprietary blend of warm and soothing mulling spices.

It is all in the bottle - nothing to add!

This wine is designed to be served warm. Please warm it to 140°F / 60°C

Please do not boil it! The alcohol will escape!

How to heat your Glüwein:

*Please note that HOT drinks in a standard wine glass may cause the glass to break as it is thinner than normal*

One Serving at a Time:

In a microwave safe coffee mug, pour 6-8 oz.

Heat for 30 seconds then remove and stir.

Repeat that pattern until you reach the temperature you prefer.

Stirring helps to prevent the Glüwein from boiling.

On the Stovetop:

In medium size pot (for 1-2 bottles) heat on low.

Stir occasionally so the Glüwein does not boil.

You will see a pink foam start to develop around the side of the pot.

When you see that, take the Glüwein off the burner as it’s just before the boiling point.

In a Crock Pot:

For 2-4 bottles, heat on low for 45 minutes.

Keep on auto heat after.

To add a more festive look, hang oranges slices on the side of the mug and use a cinnamon stick to stir. No additional sugar, spices, oranges or cinnamon sticks are required to add flavor.

You can serve it cold if you really don't like it warm.

About this wine:

The creation of this wine was inspired by the "Glühwein" - warm, spiced wines available in the Christmas markets in Germany where our Winemaker, Mike Appolo, was stationed when a young man serving as a USAF Officer. Mike was able to find a local Mulling Spice Maker - Wood Stove Products who created special batches of mulling spices to be combines with the wine that we Made.
