About this wine:
Latin Spice is a full bodied, dry red wine made from 100% Carménère grapes. It is fruit forward and with natural spiced character that comes from the grapes. These grapes were grown in Chile.
This wine has notes of smoke, red fruit, and cigar box. The wine was aged for 6 months in newa variety of oak barrels.
When these grapes were first discovered, they were thought to be Merlot. The grapes and vine look like merlot, but the fruit and wine were completely different. Subsequent DNA testing showed that Merlot and Carménère are completely different grapes.
Pairing suggestions: Barbeque, empanadas, or other savory dishes.
