Bud Break

The southernmost part of the vineyard has buds about to break. This picture is one of the table grape varietals. Tonight there may be cold, rain, then snow. This part of the state is only supposed to get rain. We'll see. This is the earliest I have seen buds break... so still prone to a frost which may kill the fruiting buds. One reason I'm leaving so many on the plant.
I spent the weekend grafting vines to replace non productive varietals with better choices. i spent this afternoon running wires in the vineyard to the east of the barn. The 2 year old Brianna vines there are ready to push as well. They climb fast once they start.
