The people from UNH cooperative extension have told me that it is impossible to grow organic grapes in New Hampshire. I don't believe them. That said, this week I sprayed the American grapes with copper fungicide. The humidity was just too much for them and the black rot fungus started to take the grapes. Getting Ready for Harvest
We've been actively pruning the vineyard, positioning shoots, and even removing some secondary clusters from the vines to strengthen the others. A dry spring and summer (severe drought) has gifted us with the largest crop of grapes this little vineyard has ever seen. Dragonfly Red has landed
The Dragonfly Red has been released. It is a nice complex, medium bodied red wine. A blend of 3 wines from 3 vineyards in southern NH. The numbers: Grapes grown in Londonderry and Derry 30% 2013 vintage - 70% 2014 Vintage 50% american oak for 6 months - 50% stainless steel 70% ML - 30% no ML 77% Marechal Foch - 22% Frontenac - 1% Marquette There is no vintage date due to the mixed vintages... But there is a 2015 vintage behind it.... resting in 3 barrels... and from 4 vineyar
